Track walked in reverse to recommended route. Long climb from the valley floor up to Binna Burra. Not for the faint hearted. Signage was inadequate from this direction but we fumbled through ok. Took a detour along the Coomera Circuit heading from Binna Burra to Lamington. The waterfalls were worth it! Fantastic walk over 3 days. Looking forward to doing it again in reverse.

Not much of a scenery on the way, good excersize. We did it under 5h and saw 5or6 snakes (red bellies) on the way. Airlie beach end 10km of it steep up and down hill.
Places to camp on the way.

nice hike.not hard

Beautiful, gentle hike trough the forest, took the shoes off on couple occasions to cross the water.

long walk on the beach the rest is good scenery and pleasant walking Tony Davenport

when I last did this trail it was quite a bit over grown but easily manageable without any nav gear.

Thoroughly enjoyed this track. Amazing views from Nina’s Peak.

Some brief notes and tips from our experience -

Day 1 -
- Left Cardwell (by boat charter) at 8:20ish arrived at Seven Creek, Missionary Bay pontoon on Hinchinbrook Island at around 9:20am
- Nina Peak trail - about 1 hr incline to peak. Fairly difficult climb. Suggests having hands free, we left our packs at the bottom.
- We arrived at Little Ramsay Bay at 4pm.
- Suggest stay at Ramsay Bay if 3 night. Banksia not a nice beach. Nina Bay ok if have longer on island. Unsure if water is close by.
- Banksia not as nice a beach as Little Ramsay. More risk of crocodiles as near mouth of creek.
- Bring hiking chairs as no tables and difficult to find logs to sit on at Little Ramsay and you will be sore.

Day 2 -
- Don't put your shoes on when you leave Little Ramsay as you have to cross a creek at the end of the beach. If the tide is low enough, keep your shoes off as you will be able to cross in front of rocks instead of over them.
- Next 1-2 km from here is very difficult with rock face ledge walk and steep hill climb.
- From here the track was not as difficult as the first day apart from many creek crossings and muddy rainforest and tea tree swamp tracks.
-Would consider wet shoes this day to save constant stopping to take shoes off and on and maybe long pants for mozzies in tea tree swamp
- plenty of creek crossings after the muddy spots to wash your shoes clean
- took us 6 hrs Little Ramsay to Zoe Bay

Day 3
- leaving Zoe Bay, consider long pants as a lot of long grass which caused cuts to legs
- steep incline to top of waterfall
- a lot of creek crossings throughout the day and muddy swampy tracks. Again wet shoes would be suitable
- can get phone reception at top of ridge after walking through some long grass. Good time to make contact with lift home.
- dense rainforest and rock climbing/jumping to get through creeks.

good workout and enjoyed the changing landscape.

Love it

The best and most beautiful place I've ever been

Great falls for skinny dipping!

Gorgeous hike! There is a spectacular lookout to Mount Warning at Echo Point!

Albert River runs off the main border track. Very private hike with hardly any other hikers to be seen. Tracks run along the river with lots of waterfalls. Really enjoyed this one as a solo hike. Track is reasonably easy to spot.

This was an two night trip that a small group of friends and I took in August 2015. We camped at Big Bend. It was very windy and got cold at night...but as long as you are prepared, you will have no problems. The trek up to Battleship Spur is tough...you will need to carry your own water as there is no water source at the top. We used water purification tabs and filled up at Big Bend. This is probably the best overnight back country trips I have ever done! The views are stunning and the time spent on your own makes it a great bonding experience for friends.
