Easy walk for adults & kids, beautiful views of the Hunter Valley and out to the coast. Bring some mozzie repellent- they were pretty fierce today!

Worth a look!!

Awesome landscapes! Hiked from Charlie Moreland end of trail through eucalypt forest, rocky creek beds, lakes, pine planted valleys and rainforest. Bell birds, cat birds, cuckoo doves and goanas all the way. Tree python and a red-bellied back snake too; one asleep, the other scared away. Very very steep going uphill at 6-9km. After about 10km I took the short cut downhill off Pitsaw Road (at 6.6km on AllTrails map) to loop back to Charlie Moreland. Very steep descent, soil so dry just slipping all over, needed to grab sticks for supports. Beware, could easily fall or turn ankle there. But made for great adventure! Doing this version of the trail was an 18km hike. I did 20km as I took a couple wrong turns, not always easy to know which trail to take, there are many crossovers. Good to have your phone charged up or take navigation kit. Watch out for 4x4s hooning around! They are not expecting hikers, I didn’t see anyone else walking. Soooo peaceful and beautiful.

Over rated.. its a car dumping ground with over grown trails.. so many better trails to hit then this. Your better off staying away from it... and if you chose to go be aware of young p platers flying up and down the street that leads up to it... waste of petrol driving there sorry...

Excellent example of a tru blu oz trail, not only getting detoured around closed sections some parts id consider one-way unless with a short wheel-base rock scrambler. Wasnt sure Id make it so attains adventure status.

Smooth and easy. Had the bug with us so this was perfect for a day out exploring. Next trip will be on the Adv bike!

The only reason it doesn’t get 5 stars is due to track condition, which is largely on sandy 4WD tracks. I wish they’d make the entire length a proper hiking trail, as it’s an incredible area. The views are exceptional, I saw whales, crystal blue water and very impressive cliff faces.

A great drive, carry plenty of water, fuel and food, experienced driver if doing it alone, but best with a convoy. Heaps of camping locations along the track. Best to deflate tyres to 20-25psi due to rocks, tree roots and sandy locations. Some long/deep bog holes in the wetter months, chicken tracks offer a safe passage around.

I a good wwAwwwWar

Just completed in stock Everest. Steep hills, both rocky and loose, and some creek crossings. tree down at about the halfway point, the bypass is tricky. The track is a little overgrown in part.
