Great easy walk, awesome views looking back over the trail

A quick and simple walk with great views.

The walk around the base of this magnificent structure is incredible.

Super simple out and back hike between some large outcrops. Even on a cloudy, rainy day, it was spectacular to see.

This is the second time I have climbed Uluru and the completed the base walk on the same day. This time instead of climbing to the top, taking a photo then walking down, I took an hour or so to sit up there and soak in the views which are nothing short of spectacular. The climb is not for the faint hearted and only about (in my opinion) 5-10% of starters finish at the top. The base walk with the off shoots is well worth the effort. This walk is very easy and worth taking your time to do. I find its a good wind down after climbing the rock.

This is a spectacular walk. The only way to describe it is as a living artwork. The vistas change with every step taken. If you have the time take some lunch and enjoy this area for a whole day. The track is well marked but only for the sure footed. The bird life is a joy to listen to. Dont forget to look along the ground occasionally as the plant life and flowers although petite are a spectacular show. Enjoy!

Great views and easy enough to navigate. Plenty of visitors to the Park and everyone was clean and aware of the environment and it's history, it seemed. Careful with the loose rocks along the trails especially with the steep portions but if you're careful and take your time, you get lovely views rewarding you at each turn. We were fortunate to arrive there the week after the torrential rains so the dessert was green and in bloom.

You can't come to Uluru and not do this trail. It's marked at the Uluru Base Trail and closes in hot temperatures. Definitely recommend giving yourself at least 3 hours (even for the fit!) and finishing before 11am when the temperature increases.

I only made it to the first lookout as the rest of the trail closes at 11AM due to heat and sun exposure. You do get a great view of Kata Tjuṯa from the short walk to the first lookout!

I was surprised by the length and amazing views that this easy trek provided! Definitely easy for almost anyone and you get a true feel for the magnitude of Kata Tjuṯa. Highly recommend!
