Definitely not a good walk choice if you want to avoid people... but a good choice on a warm day, as it's mostly shaded and passes by lots of bays and beaches.

It’s just one of Sydney’s iconic walks with a bit of everything. Add on north head and it’s a good stroll. The views of the harbour are fantastic and you see lots of wildlife along the way, particularly water dragons.

Glad I found this trail - perfect for young kids (starting at Belmont, there is a long, but gradual uphill section - but coming back is easy). Cafe near the end, and a few beaches are in relatively easy reach of the track. We had a swim at Nine Mile Beach on the way back. Rail tunnel is lots of fun!

A very beautiful beach - but expect a few people here in summer. The short walk to Governors Head is worth the effort, for some nice views. Hard to imagine this was the site of a proposed nuclear power station!

First off this is definitely doable in one day despite so many things I read that made it seem extremely difficult. Much of the trail is level and even on man made walkways in many spots. One if the most difficult portions was the detour to the Figure 8 pools, which for my money can be skipped.

What I will say is that if you start in Bundeena like I did because I was worried about catching the last ferry, be aware that the final 3-4 miles are all uphill. It's not terribly steep and there are steps for most of the way but after 13 miles it's tough enough. Also it's good to know that there's no ticket machine at the Otford station so make sure you have a full card or a ticket in advance.

Otherwise this is an incredible experience with some of the most beautiful coastlines and beaches you can ever hope to see. And it's not crowded in the slightest so at times you'll feel that you have it all to yourself.

Beautiful trail with breathtaking views

super easy. if you walk on the sand (if the tide is right) on the bay side, then either take the stairs for a much faster way up and a better workout. alternatively there's the longer but easier path which gently winds up the hill. stunning views!

Great walk. Will definitely do it again.

spectacular views

Great view, but too easy

A beautiful short loop through a pristine hanging swamp. The drive in could be tricky in wet weather with a 2wd. Requires some clearance. The only disappointing part is see the coal mining in the distance as you start the walk. This is near the Gardens of Stone National Park which is under threat from coal mining. See before it is despoiled by the mining industry.

Don’t miss Wendy’s Secret Garden!

A city walk. Easy. Great opportunities for postcard-worthy photographs of Sydney.

Unforgettable views. Great pictures.

Great city. Very international and eclectic.

fantastic views coastal and mountains

This is a great trail for everyone it’s got everything to challenge lush forests to start with and coastal beaches. This is a great trail that I take friends from out of town on because it gives stunning views. Time your finish with a ferry ride back to Cronulla and a deserved beer and a feed.

The views are the best - from the ocean, to colorful buildings, old cemeteries, and beaches... There are so many rest areas along this nice long walk and the entire path is sandy, or paved or covered with wood. Would strongly recommend it!

beautiful views and quite an easy walk

A great walk with you kids and a beautiful view at several points.

Starts off ok along the lake, all footpaths. Head up into Teralba where you can get a coffee if you want one but after crossing the railway tracks you end up walking on a thin windy road with cars flying past you. Bit scary, not enjoyable at all. I'll never do it again but at least I can say that I've don't it!!!

Another great easy walk. A lot of dirt trail walking with some pathways thrown in. Stop in at Warners Bay for some lunch at the end.

Beautiful walk with wonderful views. Quite a easy walk on footpaths, along the beach and on dirt trails. A bit of everything. You can even get a coffee or breaky along the way.

Good place for a jog.

There is an $8/vehicle charge to enter the park. I wish this app would clarify where you have to pay. You could probably park outside the gate and walk in for free. The walk was nice, if a bit busy with young families, and not very challenging. The cave itself is caged off to protect it.

Beautiful scenery and surprising green belt through Newcastle/Lake Macquarie, very enjoyable! Plus great coffee shops at Warners Bay at the end of the walk to get a well deserved lunch and coffee!
