Gorgeous walk where my gf and saw all sorts of wildlife from lyre birds to lizards, a snake, wallabys and more! Beautiful change in forest from bush at the top to rainforest down low by the creeks.

great trail, lots of nice views.

Stunning views!

Trail was moderate until I hit greaves creek. Got stuck and lost the trail. Couldn’t figure out how to move forward. So I back tracked and went on an alternate trail. I looked up Luke Ryan’s recording post hike and can see that he also got stuck where I did, but it looks like he figured it out.

Prefer a more natural walk without all the stone steps

nice track! the stairs were killer though

It was really fun and great experience. One of the epic moment in my life.

Gorgeous trail, every step of the way! Those stairs will take it out of you though!

Amazing walk but a lot of steep stairs.

cool canyons and a really well maintained track, took us bang on 2hrs

It’s one of the best hikes I’ve been on with a big climb out of the valley but the swimming holes along the trail make up for it. Even in winter you still can have a quick dip, the water temp is nearly the same as the air temp

Incredible mix of history, views, waterfalls, rainforest and canyons. Enjoyed this walk so much and every step up an down was worth it!

Amazing walk! Lots of things to see. Caves, little pools and much more! There's a lot of steps but it's well worth it! If you come to the Blue Mountains, you must do this walk!

One of the more beautiful walks around that is for sure. The rainforest sections were breathtaking. Definitely a lot of stairs so heads up. Will be doing it again.

Awesome trek. Very hard!!!

Such a beautiful hike! Will definitely do it again. Coming up out of the rainforest at the end was tough.. So many stairs but we'll worth it. We were pretty proud of ourselves afterwards :)

Great hike, interesting change from up high to down in the rain forest. Not sure why but Strava says this was almost 2km longer and 145 m more elevation gain than All Trails says. Elevation gain isn’t always accurate but distance usually is so beware it’s a good 30-35% longer than then 5.5km listed here.

Great hike. Can be challenging coming up out of the canyon for those not used to it, but it’s worth it. Grand Canyon shows a very different side of the area once all the lookouts start to look the same.

7.8 km of beautiful nature. lots of stairs, but every one of them worth it. the end wasn’t easy for me

Nice hike
Stiff steps
Nice walk in the Forest down in the canyon
Hithickîng to foresee to return to your car if needed (or stormy Weather !)

Add in the Gand Canyon to your loop and you have one of the hardest but most beautiful walks, with a spectrum of vegetation/ forest of the Gross Valley. Fresh water is available along the track but best boiled. I started with 3 litres and drank the lot. Swimming at the many waterholes is very refreshing on hot summer days. A must do walk in a world heritage wilderness. You will need very good knees and ability to climb. It is also advisable to take orienteering equipment as the track is sometimes elusive. Also, consider snakes. Don’t become a statistic.

We discovered Govetts leap. Approx 7km return from Evansookout carpark. lots of steps but well worth it for the veiws.

Had to give 5 stars. An iconic walk in the upper Blue Mountains. Great views of Mt Banks, highest cliff in the Blue Mountains and great views of the Grose Valley. The Grand Canyon walk is superb with extensive periods of cool temperate rainforest. There is a fair amount of stairs, overall 640 metres of ascent and all worth it. The last part is the Braeside walk beside a sandstone bottomed creek that passes through a lush Blue Mountains hanging swamp. Can get a bit crowded in the holiday season but one of the great walks in Blackheath.

Rated hard for a reason, a word of advice... travel light

Challenging. Prepare for lots of steps. But views are so worth it!

A must-do in the area.

One of the hardest one day loops in Blue Mountains. Hike time 7-8 hours. Do not underestimate the ascent with high steps. Take plenty of water and snacks to remain hydrated.

Really enjoyable walk. Little bit steap on the way in & out but so worth it.
Looks like they are about to repair the stairs at the Evans Head lookout entrance. Will be great to walk down once finished.

Perfect walk during summer, even on a hot day. The thick jungle like setting ensures a cool and scenic walk! Be prepared for some step climbing at the end. Get there early to beat the crowds. 7-8am is a good time to start, or even earlier. It will take between 2.5-3.5 hours to complete. Bring plenty of water and snacks. There are plenty of places to stop and sit to soak in the surrounds.

It's a really nice hike.
