Challenging sections descending to and ascending from the river but overall a great trail. Can be difficult to navigate in areas but trail markers assist

beautiful trail!

Beautiful track! Easy path to Mermaid Pools but the real fun begins after you pass it. We did longer walk to find a perfect lookout and then to check out all the rest waterfalls marked on map (I attached pic). We didn’t meet anyone on the sunny winter day

Incredible views. Rocky and challenging. Waterfalls are beautiful and so quiet and peaceful among just the birds and the wind! Detailed written maps are supplied at the log book. Dogs are allowed however can have trouble on the rocky slopes and dangerous cliff edges. Plenty of markers along the way however would recommend this to experienced bushwalkers.

awesome location always a crowd on a sunny weekend day

The track can be slippery in the wet or in the cold. The climb down to the top of Mermaids Pool involves rock hopping.

Beautiful place

I do this walk with my dog, can be confusing if you don't follow the map.

Love this track but the first easy part to Mermaid pools isn’t the best part. The 4km round trip through Tahmoor Gorge Track on top is pretty challenging and full of surprises. Really enjoyed this but do your research and take a lot of water. No phone reception and poor markers. Recommend hiking poles and vigilance for snakes, we saw A LOT! It’s an awesome track. Oh, and if you take your dog, you are going to have to lower him down some big rocks too big to jump down

Beautiful pool to swim in with a rope swing and rock jump

Short walk but a beautiful spot. Tricky finding your way down to the creek and pools.

Easy hike. You may find difficulty navigating through some parts of the trail. Otherwise, it was an easy hike towards a very rewarding destination. The pool itself can be difficult to get to. You have to either jump a 15 meter cliff, or climb down a wet rock face with the assistance of a few ropes. If you find difficulties with either of these, you may find the Mermaid pools not suitable for you or your group.
