Views in all directions, easy to do over 2 days. Don’t be fooled by the weather, it’ll be 18 degrees during the day and burn your scalp then drop below 0 at night even in January. Add in Mt Twynam as a side track to make it Australians 3 highest.

Well maintained and diverse track. I especially like the track between Garie beach to Otford, lush terrain and beautiful beaches.

A great hike that should be stretched over to 2 days, if not 3. The mountain climb is challenging yet rewarding. We camped by the river after descending from the mountain which was peaceful and beautiful. Don’t under estimate the second half of the walk though! There are multiple steep hills to hike up and the second day is as physically demanding as the first!

Great track, when you reach the bottom of the waterfall take a good rest as you'll be climbing stairs all the way and past the top!

Great track especially for a solo trecker. Easily done over two days but more enjoyable over three.

Beautiful walk, started in Bundeena and made our way to Otford so there was no pressure to catch the last ferry back.

The best section is at the beginning of the coast walk near Bundeena Wharf.

Honestly one of the prettiest hikes. I completed with a 4 hour hike in day one and a 5 hour hike day 2 (with the excursion to the figure 8 pools, which is totally awesome!!). Would definitely recommend it although there is a lot of elevation change.

Trail was moderate until I hit greaves creek. Got stuck and lost the trail. Couldn’t figure out how to move forward. So I back tracked and went on an alternate trail. I looked up Luke Ryan’s recording post hike and can see that he also got stuck where I did, but it looks like he figured it out.

It was a good trail I would definitely do it again there where some challenging bits but overall the views made up for it the two campsites that we stayed at were good they were clean and the fire places already had some wood there for us to use and it wasn’t to cold which we were all great full for I would do it again if I could.

Variety of striking rock features. Idyllic mountain top glades which in September were swarming with butterflies amongst the wildflowers. Steep.

A nice walk. Went from Otford to Bundeena over two days. I clocked this walk closer to 34k so make allowances. As you travel through the boards indicating distance constantly change.

from North Era you can walk around the rocks you don't have to go over the ridge if tides permit. That would have saved plenty of effort.

Started at Berowra Waters and climbed back to Cowan. Very interesting track with a number of scenic outlooks. Lots of hard climbs and some challenging downhill sections. Well worth the effort.

Tough walk but some of the most spectacular country you will find anywhere. I have bean walking in the budawangs since I was a kid. I never get sick of it. There are so many other walks and variations that are not listed on this app. Make sure you are experienced or are with experienced people when you head into this country. Otherwise just do Pigeonhouse.
Best time for wildflowers is late winter to mid spring. Birdwatching anytime. Snake spotting in warmer months. Avoid this walk in the hotter months. Despite what this app says January and Feb are the worst months to walk here. Best time April through to October long weekend.

As described. We did it with the kids, youngest 11, in 5 days. Challenging, but beautiful. Sea eagles, Osprey and Wedgies hunting ducks were a highlight. So were the dolphins. Plan carefully, as per parks guidelines, for water. We found fresh water at Table creek, the bunyip hole and flowing from the rocks at Cape Howe. Also at lake Barracoota, though some evidence of questionable toileting practice made us collect it well away from camp. We filtered it too.

amazing! highly recommend it
take plenty of water!

Amazing, absolutely perfect

Stunning walk.
I completed January 2018, solo.
Planned to have a leisurely stroll over 3 days but completed in two after falling in a creek

First time at the top of Australia fantastic !

Awesome trek. Very hard!!!

Great walk. Nice scenery. Lots of ascents and descents though.

great hike with stunning views of the top of Mt Solitary however the loop is longer than the quoted 31 kms we started our hike at Scenic world and had already racked up 35kms by the time we finished at the top of the giant stairway at echo point so would've been at least another couple of kms it took us 12 hours total time so unless you really like a challenge I'd recommend spreading this one over 2 days

Tough but rewarding walk... would have been nicer on a warm day, rather than the hottest day on record for Sydney's west! Nice camping area by the Kowmung river.

First off this is definitely doable in one day despite so many things I read that made it seem extremely difficult. Much of the trail is level and even on man made walkways in many spots. One if the most difficult portions was the detour to the Figure 8 pools, which for my money can be skipped.

What I will say is that if you start in Bundeena like I did because I was worried about catching the last ferry, be aware that the final 3-4 miles are all uphill. It's not terribly steep and there are steps for most of the way but after 13 miles it's tough enough. Also it's good to know that there's no ticket machine at the Otford station so make sure you have a full card or a ticket in advance.

Otherwise this is an incredible experience with some of the most beautiful coastlines and beaches you can ever hope to see. And it's not crowded in the slightest so at times you'll feel that you have it all to yourself.

This is a nice track. Plenty of challenging hills (of the uphill and downhill variety). Nice scenery, also opportunities to see wildlife (saw some roos, sheep, horses and a snake). The campground at the Cox's River had water in the tank, but the other campsites not so lucky so be sure to take plenty of water.

Began 30/12/17 Boyd Tower
Completed 31/12/17 Greencape Lighthouse

Camped overnight at Saltwater.

Whole hike is 30km and a good way to see some beautiful beaches as well as a lot of wildlife.

There's no drinkable water at any stage so prepare to carry at least 8-10L or some sort of purification method for the creeks near Bittangabee Bay.

Great run. Good trails in second half. Even scored a leach for my troubles

Rated hard for a reason, a word of advice... travel light
