Great walk. Nice scenery. Lots of ascents and descents though.

great hike with stunning views of the top of Mt Solitary however the loop is longer than the quoted 31 kms we started our hike at Scenic world and had already racked up 35kms by the time we finished at the top of the giant stairway at echo point so would've been at least another couple of kms it took us 12 hours total time so unless you really like a challenge I'd recommend spreading this one over 2 days

Tough but rewarding walk... would have been nicer on a warm day, rather than the hottest day on record for Sydney's west! Nice camping area by the Kowmung river.

First off this is definitely doable in one day despite so many things I read that made it seem extremely difficult. Much of the trail is level and even on man made walkways in many spots. One if the most difficult portions was the detour to the Figure 8 pools, which for my money can be skipped.

What I will say is that if you start in Bundeena like I did because I was worried about catching the last ferry, be aware that the final 3-4 miles are all uphill. It's not terribly steep and there are steps for most of the way but after 13 miles it's tough enough. Also it's good to know that there's no ticket machine at the Otford station so make sure you have a full card or a ticket in advance.

Otherwise this is an incredible experience with some of the most beautiful coastlines and beaches you can ever hope to see. And it's not crowded in the slightest so at times you'll feel that you have it all to yourself.

This is a nice track. Plenty of challenging hills (of the uphill and downhill variety). Nice scenery, also opportunities to see wildlife (saw some roos, sheep, horses and a snake). The campground at the Cox's River had water in the tank, but the other campsites not so lucky so be sure to take plenty of water.

Began 30/12/17 Boyd Tower
Completed 31/12/17 Greencape Lighthouse

Camped overnight at Saltwater.

Whole hike is 30km and a good way to see some beautiful beaches as well as a lot of wildlife.

There's no drinkable water at any stage so prepare to carry at least 8-10L or some sort of purification method for the creeks near Bittangabee Bay.

Great run. Good trails in second half. Even scored a leach for my troubles

Rated hard for a reason, a word of advice... travel light

Competed this walk in sections. It’s a nice walk.

Did this one back in 2006, gearing up to do it again in 2018. A difficult, but rewarding walk. watch out for tiger snakes!

This is a great trail for everyone it’s got everything to challenge lush forests to start with and coastal beaches. This is a great trail that I take friends from out of town on because it gives stunning views. Time your finish with a ferry ride back to Cronulla and a deserved beer and a feed.

Pretty tough and a part of track has been closed, almost can through it but there is a small bridge has been broken, that is about 1.5m, I jumped

You need to be prepared for this one, appropriate well fitting shoes, plenty of water and snacks, this cannot be stressed enough. It took me 14 hours the first time I did this track. I’ve seen a lot of snakes and wildlife every time I do this walk. It’s very beautiful, although you may not think that after the first 10ks. There’s no huge payoff like a beautiful view at the end but you see some great country and if you can do the whole track in one day it will feel like you can do anything, although you won’t be able to climb stairs for a few days.

Started in Katoomba. Day one to cox's river is very short and easy but equally as beautiful. From there we hiked to jenolan caves on day 2. Makes for a long day with lots of elevation gain and nothing to look at. Just a boring dirt road that the snakes enjoy sunbathing on. The trail gets better looking after the last campsite, who's name eludes me.

Best on the coast most natural state of the whole coastline so let's keep it that way :)

Loved it! Pretty tough, but doable!

Parked up the road as the nearby bridge on the northern side has collapsed. Can Be reached from the West/South side. The view from the top is worth the climb. Took us about 2 hours to climb up.

GPS map on iPhone was very helpful!

Absolutely beautiful. Challenging and rugged, but so worth it!

Great hike. Great few days with the boys. Enjoyable and fun-filled.

Incredible, but demanding walk. Check an elevation profile before taking this on. I walked this from Bundeena to Otford, and would recommend doing this. The shorter second day leaves for some flexibility. A number of wallabies were sighted along the trail, and a handful of creeks are along the trail for those with water filters. Rewarding hike, although it's entirety is not for the unmotivated.

original figure 8 pools track closed. looks like permanently. this means walking to burning palms and tracking back adding another 4km to trail from Otford. steep climb coming back out

This is a tough 2 night minimum walk. Water for a full day must be carried on the walk in and out.
Wildflowers are amazing in the spring .
I would wait until 12 months after a fire to do this walk as the trail is very overgrown and badly needs repair. Wear leggings as there are plenty of snakes about.

Highly recommend, I would personally start from Orford early morning and walk north, and aim for an afternoon ferry, the reason being ferry does not start till a fair while into the day, some of the best coast near sydney
