Walked this anticlockwise though I reckon the other way might be better, avoiding the long march back at the end. It was varied and good fun, some steep bits so poles and boots recommended. Mostly on road type tracks but good views. Other side routes could be explored.

This loop is amazing with beautiful trees and wild flowers in the route. I had my breakfast close to lake , a perfect place far from city noise. Amazing views and birds sounds gave me lots of energy.

I really enjoyed this trail. Good elevation and a mixture of terrain. The markings were relatively clear with a little help from the map! The view of the city contrasted against the heavy rain clouds were beautiful.

great day hike, took approx 5 and a half hours, just done the loop to shorten the hike length plus done it in reverse

Really loved this trail, I’ve always loved Ellis Brook and finding this longer track was perfect. A bit rocky at the end but it’s only a small amount.

Really nice, I'm surprised it's not more well-known. Stunning views and varying terrain to keep it interesting. Definitely bring boots, and as others have said it's possible to get lost, but if you keep an eye on the map (I even just had a printed map) you'll be fine. I had 3G coverage throughout most of the hike, too. The north side has an abandoned quarry and a really good rock-climbing cliff face, worth checking out. Would recommend a whole day set aside if you plan on doing the whole trail, there's plenty of places along the way to explore or just sit down and enjoy the view.

Nice trail for young kids and a little catch up!

A great hike. Definitely go anti-clockwise because you will do the very tough inclines and declines first. Remember to look beside and behind you for some interesting sights. Love the varied terrain. Definitely need to keep a close eye on the map. One small part we could not find and had to cut the corner. My dog loved this hike also.

Stunning! Especially on an early morning. Not sure where to find this particular loop, but the full horse trail loop starting from the carpark is around 2.5/3 hours long. I did about 1.5hrs and walked back as I got confused by this apps loop trail. I am going back for sure, this is so beautiful the further you go in. Easy too.

Nice well maintained trail, can access from Parkerville, Stoneville, Mt Helena, Swan view, National Park, Mundaring etc Dogs are allowed but NOT in the National Park. Mostly flat, down hill and some slight hills on the way back up.

Well signed gravel track that a hybrid bike could manage. Needn't be a full MTB. Long up and a long down. Changing views with some cool spots along the way; quary, waterfalls, disused stations, tunnels etc.

A nice trail. No other traffic till we joined with Waterfall track. Went a bit off track and used the map to join back up again. Our dogs loved it.

Good trail run. Went clockwise however doesn’t really make much difference as there are hills all along it. A nice 1km incline at the 7km mark. Good fun trail to run

Awesome trail with a few different types of terrain. The dog and I left early in the morning and did this trail anticlockwise which I would recommend. Didn't see anyone else until about 2/3 of the way in. A few MTB riders about. Definitely need to watch the map if you intend to follow the trail however there are plenty of side tracks and different options to explore.

Recommend doing to loop anti-clockwise. South side is definitely more challenging. Also managed to get lost amongst the myriad of trails. As everyone says, keep a sharp eye on the map. Some lovely views across the gorge.

Fantastic steep sections and incredible views just five minutes out of Armadale!

could anyone pls tell me where is the starting point for bike ride for this trail? I am very keen to do the loop

Great walk with nice views and some cool bird life. Pretty rocky in the end so was glad I brought my hiking boots. Did it in 1 hour and 40 min.

Easy trail for a short walk. Nice view on top!

Good trail plenty of shade. Heaps more tracks to explore so you don’t have to walk out the same way you came in

A lovely trail to walk along, plenty of wildlife to see

Gorgeous walk! It should however be noted that this walk takes place on BMX tracks but is a shared path including horse riders. We started the walk at the top of the mountain at the carpark, but before enjoying the view, we decided to start wandering and happened upon this path - there is the option of parking at the bottom of the mountain and making a full trek towards the summit. The track was a little bit muddy but there had been substantial rain a few days before we did this walk. This walk is beautifully tucked away and whilst it is a tourist attraction, there were only a few people that we saw whilst on the walk but I suspect in the Winter months this track and the lookouts would be far busier. We came across 1 Rock Wallaby whilst on this walk and there are warnings that snakes live in the area so be cautious. Mount Gladstone boarders on the Kosciusko National Park but officially isn't within the park so dogs are welcome but must remain on leash due to the proximity of the National Park boarders. Once completing the walk, we took in the breathtaking views that this beautiful mountain had to offer; overall a beautiful walk in a equally beautiful small country town.
