Great track with just the tight amount of elevation. The views and landscape are stunning at Shepard’s lookout. Well worth it. Took us about 2.5 hours to do the loop and look out. You can break it up and only do some. There are multiple entry points although we chose to park at Urriara West and it was confusing trying to find the track.

Stunning views all along the coastline. Various terrain, boardwalks, rocky areas, grassy fields. Spectacular lookouts.

Nice trail with good views of the lake. Good for the family. At Bullocky's Rest there's BBQ'S so good for a meet up and barbie with people after the hike.

Did this as an overnight from Goldsborough to the causeway, to Babinda to trial packweight hiking. The first half was lovely and an easy relatively flat forestry trail. 1km from crossing the causeway there are a series of 4 creek crossings ober 2km that sandals would be useful for. the trail then gets technical, especially if wet, and diversions are necessary in areas where trees have fallen. one section is marked by pink tape but also has a lot of stinging tree and wait a while growing. take seccateurs to help keep the trail open. The 2nd half took longer than anticipated but was a nice walk. Plenty of leeches.

Beautiful walk along the creek, dogs galore! Nice seperate bike lane from walking lane most of the way. Only thing is you come back along a main road, but you could easily walk up the whole way on one side of the creek and turn around and walk the other side back! Family friendly walk

Ran this trail on one of my rehab runs last week & loved it, a couple of small hills & nice wide trail with good ground underfoot, highly recommend if u want to stay under the 10km distance , can’t wait to do it again

Hiking

Really easy walk. Nice wide walking trail. Lovely view to the river at most times. Not too hot since there are lots of shadows. Completed in less than 2h in normal walking pace. Great for biking, running, walking. Also there is lots of space to just sit on the grass and enjoy the sun/sunset.

Hiking

Went on a bit of a detour since I saw it on the map thinking it was a lookout or something just to find that it leads to nothing. So might as well not take the detour and just stay on the main trail.

started at boulders( southern end). 5 hrs walk time..the southern half is way better as it is a track through some cool rainforest with creeks and falls, but the northern half is just along a wide vehicle access track..still a worthwhile hike..lots of wait a while, had to detour a few times..take some secateurs.

A great trail through the beautiful rainforest. For fit and serious bush walkers this is just fantastic. I agree with the reviews below. PLEASE BE CAREFUL. Me and my girlfriend went in the middle of the wet season, she did not have a high level of fitness, we didnt tell anyone we were going, had no idea that the trail was so remote, and didnt take insect repellent. We had to stop at the campsite halfway, not knowing that it has very minimal facilities. Looking back, it was one of those "what the f**k were we thinking?!" hikes that I think everyone is guilty of at least once in their lifetime. I'm ashamed to have shown such poor judgement. So yeah.. ..dont do what we did.

Great walk, done in early April- tail end of wet season. Countless pristine creeks and streams; rainforest with majestic king ferns. However, navigating the track after the causeway (boulders side) gets tricky because of fallen wait-a-while. Lost count the number of times alternative paths needed to be sought (6+) around a block. Slight wash out on part of the track halfway. Well signed every 1-2km.

Completed the 18kms round trip on a warm day in early March. Took 5.5 hours with a few short breaks. While much of the walk is easy, there are steps, beach sections where you walk across the sand and some trickier parts. Scenery, wildlife and wild flowers spectacular. Highly recommended
