This was my training ground to Mt Tennent last year 2019...first I did 2x in a day and have some km on flats but is not enough but on second time I did 3x on a day and go up mt. Tennent on second attempt and wasn’t bad so long as you don’t stop on your routine like once a week otherwise you’ll be starting again...

Would you believe I only climb this hill last year but I’ve been living in the foot of the hill for almost 22 years?...I guess when you get old you start to love nature and this hill is one of them for this was the start of something amazing on trail hiking for me and never look back since cause I’m almost half way now on all mtn in ACT...

Too rocky, it is not fair to rate it moderate, it is hard and only suitable for experienced hiker.

Nice and easy ride. sheep farm beside if you want to see sheeps and alpacas. wasnt able to cross the river as the river stream seems to be high at the moment. bumpy ride due to gridded terrain.

Great track with just the tight amount of elevation. The views and landscape are stunning at Shepard’s lookout. Well worth it. Took us about 2.5 hours to do the loop and look out. You can break it up and only do some. There are multiple entry points although we chose to park at Urriara West and it was confusing trying to find the track.

Picturesque short winding trail. Horses, Rosella’s, sunbathing Kangaroo’s and an Eagle circling the summit.

Beautiful trail, meandering through the Murrumbidgee corridor. No dogs on leads as says in description -it’s a nature reserve.

Beautiful, scenic trail along the river with the mountain range as a backdrop. Hard to believe you’re just minutes from Canberra, as it feels a world away. The walk itself is easy. Couldn’t spend a more perfect day in the Winter sunshine

Mt Stranger was previously called Barney's Hill, until the mid 1980's. During both World Wars, this area was used by the RAAF and overseas Air Forces (Nederlands) for bombing practice. It's an easy loop along the National Bicentennial Trail, across Stranger Pond. Turn left after the pond until you see the track turning right behind Bonython housing areas. Follow that path until you hit the broader fire trail behind Mt Stranger. Follow the popular fire trail along the back of Mt Stranger, turn left to head up towards Mt Stranger, jump through the second A frame gate entry, and wind your way north towards the Trig at the top of Mt Stranger. Then follow the north/west bound vehicle track from the top, back onto the fire trail below. Turn left again for around 50 metres, and duck through the ACT Government's signposted walking gate on the right. Follow the mowed path around to the right, all the way until you hit the small creek bed. Turn left at the creek bed and follow that for around 20 metres until you come to the Pine Island Reserve path again, which will take you back out to the Pine Island Road Car Park area.

Bridge to bridge is a very popular trail for walkers and bikes. Very very busy on weekends. It’s nice but gets boring after a while.

I’m sorry to say I didn’t find the scenery very pleasant -a lot of dried creeks and old dead, sometimes fallen trees (with the exception being the dam which was full of old, dead trees -that was interesting) + the wire fencing just made this space feel a bit ‘yuck’ and was in all underwhelming. It was nice to hear frogs around at time though , and to know there are quolls around...

Fairly average in terms of natural beauty. The best part is the wetland with a lot of wetlife (my word for frogs) but the backdrop is a built up road and traffic. If I lived nearby I would definitely frequent it for convenience but not worth a drive out there.

Trail has some nice variations - some flat paths compared to clambering over rocks. Views are ok punctuated with sounds of falling water from the river. A nice out and back.

Did this walk on a cold, April, Sunday morning. Lots of people around with their kids and dogs (most on leash which they should be, some not). It had been raining for 2 days before I did this walk. Beautiful walk and a very big reserve which could take a few hours to walk around. Nice views, well defined track, no inclines, lots of wildlife including kangaroos, kookaburras, cockatoos (including a flock of black cockatoos), magpies and I'm sure in Summer lots of reptilian species. Went slightly off trail at the end of the walk and became incredibly bogged so make sure you stick to the path, especially if it's been raining.
