Lovely hike, we absolutely enjoyed it! For us it was rather easy to find the "new way". That is because on the one hand the app shows the "new way" and on the other hand the trail was clearly visible from above. But Kirk was right, the concrete marker is broken.

Nice and mostly easy trail along the Canyon. Only the descend shortly before Haghpat is a little steeper. And do not underestimate the length and duration for the walk up to Haghpat.

Very nice hike - if you take the newer trail. As you descend out of Odzun, you'll come to a point where there is a fork in the trail. There is a painted red-and-white flash on a rock at this point, with an arrow pointing to the left path. DO NOT TAKE THIS PATH. It is the old trail, which is overgrown, difficult, and doubles the time to Horomayr. Go to the right, which goes up and hugs the base of the cliff. It looks like someone broke the concrete marker that indicates this newer trail.

Nice hike. However, it is easy to miss the trail on the way out once you get to the plateau. There is a steel flagpole in the open - you need to bear left from there along the ridgeline to pick up the trail again. Also, the path to the right at the start is exceptionally steep and rocky - I do not recommend going that way either at the start or the end.
