A good warm up for Laguna de Los Tres.

Such an incredible hike. You get terrific panoramic views of the lakes around Bariloche and tremendous old forests. The hike can be quite strenuous, especially as you start to approach the refugio, where you are going at quite a steep angle for the last kilometer. The refugio is very bare bones, with beds a bathroom and a small kitchen. They do not charge for staying (at the time I went in 2016), but simply ask that you carry a small bag of garbage with you when you go back down the mountain. The final view around the refugio is stunning, steep sharp cliffs capped with snow completely envelope the surroundings, truly the most gorgeous hike I have ever been on.

I went during February when it was the summertime in Patagonia. There were few parking spots so one has to show early but the trail and view of the glacier is a step away from the parking lot. The trail is on metal walkways and you can't get to close because there is ice constantly falling. It was incredible to see so much ice that extends so far back. The glacier's wind was absolutely cold, even during the summer. The glacier lake that it feeds is a stunning site to just sit down and witness all day. It is a life-changing experience to see Perito Moreno.

Lovely hike with great variety of scenery and amazing view at end. We started at 2 pm and finished easily before sunset but were lucky to have had wonderful weather. Mostly very easy walking.

A perfect way to spend a summer’s day near Ushuaia, Argentina. Twenty minute cab ride to base of the ski area and a lovely hike up the mountain to the base of the glacier. Beautiful views of the bay and surrounding mountain ranges.

A beautiful trail that provides nice views of Cerro Torre. The hike is not as great as the Laguna de los Tres hike, but it is still very much worth hiking. Here is my full trip report with pictures, maps, and other info! https://backpackersreview.wordpress.com/trip-reports/los-glaciares-national-park/

It is trail with lots of veriety. Open fields, forrest, vista’s, fynbos, and a Great vista at the turning point, weather permits. I didn’t have Such luck as the weather can be very unpredictable turning from sunny, strong wind and 24C into 15 degrees and a downpoor with windforce 9/10 plus gusts upto 11. Come prepared!

Was the first time for me being that close to a Glacier for me and it was awesome! Fairly crowded trail but worth the view. Able to access right from the town of El Chalten.

I would consider this a moderate hike. Beautiful views, especially at the bottom of the valley (around 5km) if the torres are not visible.

To get to the actual lagoon, this is a moderate hike. I thought Laguna de Los Tres was way harder than this one. Phenomenal views all the way through, and the most peaceful, humble glaciers sit at the end if the time of the year offers it. I didn't get to see the spiky mountain peaks because of the clouds, but it was worth it anyway.

The walk is very easy, I would suggest that you get to the park early to take the first train out. Take this train to the last stop first. Because most get off at the first stop. We had a very few people out on the catwalk and the last stop is the best view of the Devil’s Throat. Then walk back.

Most hardcore birdwatchers will already know that this is the best place in BA for birdwatching but if you are just casually into birds and looking for a nice nature area in the city this is an awesome place to see tons of birds (especially waterfowl and large waders) up close. The park is also populated enough and in a safe enough part of town that you can feel pretty secure waking around with optics in plain sight. Lots of runners, cyclists, casual strollers and young, hip Argentinians lounging around drinking mate.

This is a great hike. I consider it moderate, not hard, unless you have a guide to take you across the river to the glacier.
