Caminhada perfeita passando por um lindo vale terminado em um lago na base da cadeia de Montanhas com destaque ao pico "cerro torre". Grande variedade de paisagens e tipo de trilhas! A área da laguna é sulreal...

Magestic short Andean hike with views of the tallest mountain in the Americas. The perfect day trip and hike in between visiting Mendoza wineries.

This is the most beautiful hike we did. Took the bus from El Chalten to El Pilar and started our day from there. The weather was beautiful and we had a blast. Our independent recordings of the trail showed a longer distance (15.3 miles), but it is true that once we got up, we continued the exploration around the laguna. I was very tired and I had to take some Ibuprofen to help with my feet pain (I have a severe plantar fasciatis). Wonderful hike!!!!

We got a clear day, amazing hike. Gets crowded if done in mid day but just amazing

Just amazing.

Nice view of the mountains and the city!

Gotta get lucky and catch it on a clear day. If not Fitz is blocked by the clouds!

A really great day hike with awesome views. You can begin/end the hike at either El Chalten or the El Pilar Hostel. We started at the Hostel El Pilar and finished the hike in El Chalten. We took a taxi to the Hostel in the morning before we began hiking. Nice trail with a beautiful view of the Ushuaia city and the bay.

Very nice trail, easy to walk and with the beautiful view of Beagle Channel.

Nice walk. Beautiful architecture.

Buenos Aires is a beautiful city and this walk is exactly that. We did this walk in the evening as the sun was setting.

It was a nice walk. There are free public bathrooms which are fairly clean. There were many birds (I imagine many more during the warmer months).

Beautiful lake with a lookout for fitz roy.

If you plan to make the trip to Argentina, make sure Iguazu is on your itinerary .. These falls were stunning in every sense of the word .. magnitude dwarfs anything you may have seen especially as we had been to Niagara a few years back. Strongly suggest to add the trip from the Argentinian side as you get really close and personal and also boat the waters to the Falls.

Amazing. We did that trail with my kids (12 and 4 years old). Was hard but wonderful experience.

The trail is well-marked and well-kept. We accessed it by boat, but there are ways to get to the main trailhead by car.

Amazing experience. Family of 4, parents in their 40’s, one child 14 and another child 10. Took us 5 hours. We spent the night at Refugio Otto Meiling and took a tour walking and climbing the glaciers the next morning. Then came down to the base, another 5 hours, and took transportation back to Bariloche City. Would do it again in a heartbeat. Lovely view, people super friendly, trail very well marked, you can’t get lost if you follow the trail.

Linda senda y fácil. Se accede desde el pueblo. Aprox 6hs

Es una caminata hermosa, sólo el último kilómetro es desafiante. Recomiendo comenzar desde la hostería El Pilar, es más bonita y fácil.

It’s a beautiful hike with amazing views. Only the last km is challenging. I recommend you start from El Pilar, it’s easier and prettier

Very good view on Fitz Roy. Too much crowded but it’s the price to pay! :)

Amazing trail with lots of opportunities to stop and enjoy the beautiful views. Weather in early may was quite decent (coldest being 2-5 c)
The last 1.5k was challenging and dangerous, the steep incline was filled with ice and snow. Be careful where you step!

Total time from El Chaltén was of 8hrs

Great trek as part of the Aconcagua summit

I completed this hike first week of May. The weather was a little chilly at the start but as you continue it gets warmer. Amazing views all the way through. The start of the trek has a slight incline for 1km till you get to your first view point. As everyone else has said , the last 1.5 kms were very hard. We had lots of icy conditions which made the rocks slippery, even harder on the way down trying not to slip. (Do not attempt if you are scared of heights!)
Definitely worth the trip to the top though!! The hike back was very fast, only took 3 hours from the top but our feet were hurting ! Must see trek!

A good warm up for Laguna de Los Tres.

Such an incredible hike. You get terrific panoramic views of the lakes around Bariloche and tremendous old forests. The hike can be quite strenuous, especially as you start to approach the refugio, where you are going at quite a steep angle for the last kilometer. The refugio is very bare bones, with beds a bathroom and a small kitchen. They do not charge for staying (at the time I went in 2016), but simply ask that you carry a small bag of garbage with you when you go back down the mountain. The final view around the refugio is stunning, steep sharp cliffs capped with snow completely envelope the surroundings, truly the most gorgeous hike I have ever been on.

Worth the effort

Amazing views! The last 1km is a 40% grade made more difficult by the large number of other people hiking and the constant strong wind.

Very enjoyable trail. Sweeping views of water and mountains. Plus “mittens” ,piles of shells/bones/ashes from the Yamana natives in almost every cove. Trail very well marked. Occasionally dip into heavy woods, also beautiful.
