#1 - Iguazú Falls from the Argentinian Side
Iguazú National ParkLength: 5.3 mi • Est. 2 h 36 m
This trail takes you to the Upper and Lower Walk. When you see the first waterfall, it is astounding how much water is actually flowing around the area. You get glimpses of the main waterfalls on the Argentinian Side, as well as a hazy and obscured view of the Brazilian side. The mist put off from the falls covers the whole area with a white blanket almost as if you were looking into a snow storm.
As you continue on the lower trail, you can get to right below one of the main falls and get soaked by the mist. The upper section of the trail gets significantly less mist, so it's a great place to take your time soaking in the scenery as well as the sheer volume of water. The sight is truly spectacular and cannot be captured solely in photos - it is the sound, the depth, and the feeling that you need to experience.
From the upper section of the trail, you can board the train to venture towards the Devil's Throat. The Devil's Throat is the highest of the falls and mist comes out constantly, sometimes in huge updrafts that carry immense amounts of water onto the catwalk overlooking the area. The water moves at its fastest speed right around the Devil's throat. It is so high that you cannot see the bottom from the catwalk, but this is partially attributed to the volume of mist. The catwalk in-and of-itself is quite an impressive engineering feat.
