When I saw moderate, I figured it'd be a little more trail and a bit less walk by the beach. Still beautiful.

This is a huge park considering how close it is to the city. Some parts feel like you're in a secluded forest, while others offer impressive views of the Puget Sound, Bainbridge Island, and the Kitsap Peninsula. We added an extra mile by taking the North Beach Trail all the way around the water treatment plan and back to the loop trail. Our total mileage was 5.1.

If you're in the mood for a walk/run in the city, this is a great option. It's enjoyable in all seasons. The only downside is that it's crowded.

This is one of my favorite places! Love the trails and lookouts. Catching the sunset by the lighthouse/water is magical. On a clear day the beach offers beautiful Mt Rainer views. Going on a weekday evening, it use to feel like we had the entire park to ourselves. Good access to restrooms and parking. Coming from Indiana, I never could get over how tall the trees are and how tiny they make everything look in comparison.

Can be busy but I love walking or jogging around this lake. A consistent loop good for tracking your time and measuring improvement. A good place in the midst of a city to bike/skate/walk/jog with a pretty lake view.

F*ckin great.
