We did every trail in the park and this one ranked low among them.

I did this last year. We had a cabin at the park and did everything.

Nice walk

Nice walk.

Nice for beginners.

A nice trail system and a lot less travelled than the state park across the lake.

Kerr Lake, aka John H. Kerr Lake, aka Kerr Reservoir, aka Bugs Island Lake is divided in the middle by US 15 and US 58. It straddles the Virginia and North Carolina border. Kerr Lake offers Occoneechee State Park and many wildlife management areas. The lake is the largest in Virginia with over 50 square miles of surface and a maximum depth of 100 feet.

A very pleasant walk in the woods. There is a viewing platform. It is an easy trail with gentle up and down, but mostly level walking.

A very pleasant trail through mixed hardwoods and pine. Don't mess with the ossage orange fruits. They are not good to eat and will stain your hands for a week of washing. The trail is a little hard to follow, but impossible to get lost.

Although it is not a huge area, there are many miles of jeep road. They are not well maintained in some areas so be prepared. Sections may be gated so vehicles will not be allowed past the gates. The best way to see it all is by mountain bike. Only a couple roads ever get to a view of Kerr Reservoir.

This is a nice woodland trail. It is very easy to follow and not enough vertical change to get tired. I did not see any interesting birds, but maybe I did not know what I was looking for.

Another nice walk in the woods. This is a beautiful single track trail through mixed hardwoods and some pine. The terrain is not level, but there are no actual climbs either. There was still a little bit of foliage left in places.

trail running

I had a good run on on part of this trail. The trail does meander across one of the parks main roads. I was concerned that apart of the trail is next to a year round hunting area- and there are warning signs about this! I did not feel safe running on that part of the trail.
