hiking

This is an okay hike. It's mostly flat but there are some very steep and rocky sections. There isn't much to see in the way of lookouts, but the trail itself has much to offer. There are rhododendrons all over and there are boulders on which to walk on. It gives it a different feel to most trails in this area. It's an alright hike to stretch one's legs, but not much for views and thrills.

Nice trail, well marked. It was short but that worked for our pug who doesn't do well on long walks. Definitely easy as far as difficulty goes.

trail running

A nice jog on a dry day. Some spots are wet and mucky depending on previous weather. This is fairly easy. Good for short hikes with kids, scouts or pets. Next door to the Y.

hiking

Half of the trail is on what seems to be old logging roads - wide and mostly easy going. The other half is narrow and rocky. Very pretty hike but wouldn't have a brought the stroller if I'd know that! I carried our little one the second half while my husband fought with the stroller. We'd do it again but with the baby in a carrier the whole way!

Easy going trail with a mix of dirt roads and windy trails circling the pond.

I did the yellow trail, which was almost 8 miles. It was a little tricky due to recent rain. They maintain the trail.

walking

Breath taking views throughout this 7 mile rt trail. Some very rocky sections that may not be suitable for very small children or those not in great shape/unsteady on their feet. A must do while in Newport. Our total time was 2 hours 40 minutes with several stops to take pictures.

Coolest trail in Rhode Island, depending on seasons and if you actually like to hike or walk on the beach?

It was very pleasant. A nice walk through different areas. I was surprised not to see any birdhouses in the meadows though, since it is an Audubon area. Came across some deer as I was on my way out, so that was cool.
