Like many others, I had only been to the first fall since the silly sign said "Trail Ends Here". I decided to go past the sign this time and it was great! I went around 9:30 on a Saturday morning in early October and there weren't a whole lot of people hiking the trail (the Buckeyes were playing later that day, maybe that was part of it...) The hike along the creek is a lot of fun! When you get to the second fall it's very peaceful and relaxing. It's just under a 2 mile hike total. I recommend this trail. And go past that silly sign! :)
E J. on Allardale Loops Trail
Nice partially wooded, partially open trail. A lot of the trail was uphill for me (I walked counterclockwise).
A moderately strenuous hike along the base of Bender Mountain and up to it's ridge line. All forested with views of the Ohio River from the top. The loop trail includes three different trails of Bender Mountain Nature Preserve totaling 2.3 miles.
E J. on Oak Hill Trail
Beautiful wooded trail that opens up to a pond around halfway through. The trail is well-marked; Plateau Trail intersects Oak Hill Trail several times. Great trail for looking at the autumn leaves.
