on West House Trail

Trail itself was fine but parking on fast paced highway edge was slightly scary. Entrance was difficult to see.
Beautiful lake views and only one steeper section made for a pleasant walk.

I wanted to complete the loop around Brandt Lake, which I did, using the mountain bike version of this trail. The mountain bike part of the trail is very busy ... although lovely and nice and long ... the walking part of the trail is much shorter (about half the length). Lovely forest. There are a few ups and downs, in the main this is an easy trail for an experienced hiker.

On a Thursday morning, I hiked this one-way from Lake Brandt Road to the Greenway, and then went South on the Greenway. This is an easy trail for an experienced hiker. Saw eight people on the length of the trail, two runners, six hikers.

This "loop" is very nice. A well maintained trail, with parking along Lake Brandt Rd, and near city facilities at the marina. Hiked this early February, weather cool, sunny, all leaves off the trees. Great time of year to do that, no bugs. This is an easy afternoon or early morning hike for an experienced hiker. There are some small climbs. No toilet facilities.

Great for walking our GSD. Can't wait to see it in spring and fall.

Very nice trail with nice views of the lake. I saw a couple of Great Blue Herons at the edge of the water. There are a couple of steeper inclines but they are short.

I was looking forward to visiting the West House at the end of his trail, but the 200 year old building was the least interesting this about it. Since it's only about .75 miles long I combined it with Peninsula Trail for a very pleasant morning walk. The sunrise was the best I've seen maybe ever.
