Hiked this trail halfway this past Sunday with friends. This is a beautiful trail bordering Lake Brandt on the northern shoreline. Wildlife was active with numerous birds, squirrels and some deer. It's fairly flat, with a couple hills in the middle. Pretty easy overall.

Easy walk, beautiful trail through Battleground Park, lots of history here also...easy to add on extra stops
I started at the Old Battleground trailhead, hiked all the way to Lake Brandt Marina, then I used the Wild Turkey Trail to turned around and back to the Old Battleground trailhead for a loop of total 7.3 miles. The Wild Turkey trail was built for mountain biking but I had a good workout for hiking. People on it were very courteous. I was totally enjoyed it.
Great kid-friendly hike. There was some more variety to the trail than I expected for an "easy" hike. Beautiful bio-diversity and everything from a low creek area with ferns to beautiful lake views and several types of forest with lush ground cover.

Great trail, for even waking up in the morning ...
I live in the neighborhood & have for 9 years. I never knew the full trail or many others close by before downloading this app ~ It's Great !
Easy trek with great history. Stop in at the Visitor Center and view a few short programs to learn about the Revolutionary War battle that transpired at this location. After a day of walking, don't miss Ozzie's Ice Cream shop (intersection of Battleground and Old Battleground) for the best ice cream in Greensboro!
