dogs on leash
We took toddlers on their first hike here. A two year old that was carried 1/2 the time and two three-year-olds who had a blast together. they started complaining about the 2.5 mile mark by it was also running into nap time. We also took a middle aged German Shepherd with us and even though there was some points were we were barely able to fit two-people wide, we really, REALLY enjoyed it. also there is a picnic table area that is very nicely shaded right after the falls tht if we had known existed we would have utilized.
Lor L. on Paradise Falls Trail
Lot's of flat. I ended up running... Didn't expect the smell from the manmade waterfalls.
Easy, dry (of course SoCal is in a 5 year drought) and offered great views. Water at the falls, however I think it's from a waste water treatment plant in the vicinity. Nice that dogs can be on the trail along with horses. Beautiful sunset and full moon rising!
Really liked this hike. We went to paradise falls and it had to be the best waterfall I've seen yet. The only downside is that you can't go into the water and you probably wouldn't want to anyway since its from the treatment plant nearby. Yikes! The teepee is also pretty cool to see. It was an easy hike until you continue past the waterfall. It begins to incline which is a bit challenging along with the few switchbacks as you get closer to the top. The views are nice once you've reached the top and the way back down is nice and easy. I was a bit scared because of the mountain lion posts but no sightings! Haha! I do want to advise about the bad smells on the trail and you pass the treatment plant. It's pretty intense but it doesn't last for too long. I recommend getting there early as the parking lot gets full and also beware of the poison oak that's around in shady areas.
