Definitely worth the drive. I went on an early morning after some rainy days. It was actually drizzling when I had went. There were closed signs before entering. Maybe, I should of read the signs because on the way back a ranger was waiting for me. He was pretty upset I still went up because I guess someone died a couple of days before. I played dumb and act like I didn't see any signs and talked my way out of a ticket. It's really not a dangerous hike if you stay on the trail. But overall, I really enjoyed it.
I totally got lost. I went trail blazing with my dog, running across rattlesnake holes. We crawled through barbwire fence together, but made it to the water tower. It was overlooking the water and was amazing. The hike was so worth it. It took me 5 miles round trip. If you go the right way it will be shorter and a lot easier haha. I think my way was more fun though!
Worth seeing! Trails were clearly marked so it was easy to get to the Falls. The fields are so green it was beautiful to see. Stuck to the 2.8 mile trail but there are more options to continue down other trails if you want to continue on. I crossed the stream to snap pics from the other side of the Falls and I'm glad I did because the view from the other side was much better. For pictures and more insight:
