Good, easy trail for family with jogging stroller.
Nice lake, view and woodsy smell, but a little low due to no rain this summer. Easy trail, strolled with infant in carrier. No dogs allowed & no swimming allowed.
rion g. on Paradise Lake
This is a fairly flat trail that goes about two-thirds of the way around the lake - it would really be nice if it was ever turned into a trail that went all of the way around the lake. The path is wide and fairly flat with just a few very small ups and downs and it is mostly packed dirt with some areas that are loosely packed road-base gravel. The view is great wherever you stop and it's always a nice local trail to get some "fresh air" on! BTW - Dogs are not allowed anywhere around the lake - it's a municipal water supply. Kayaks and non-gasoline boats are allowed on the lake and it has been a popular fishing lake for as long as I can remember...
This is a beautiful trail for walking or biking! $3 to park in the lot, and there is a nice campground with park area and lots of benches. We biked the whole trail today (about 4.5 miles out and back) and saw many lizards and three deer. One stuck around right by the trail as we passed and just stared. I wish swimming was allowed in the lake, as there are a few nice looking areas, but the signs say it's not allowed. =( we really enjoyed the views and the trail though, at least until I got a flat tire about a mile and a half away from the car. LOL.
Fun and well maintained trail. We used to live up the road in Magalia and spent quite a bit of time at the lake. Fun kids fishing - never caught anything keepable. Have heard about bear sightings but never saw anything larger than lizards and snakes. Great walk for the kids.
