These trails are not intense they are not challenging and they do cost 10 dollars to get in but the views are amazing the coast is absolutely stunning. Worthwhile! Tide pools are awesome!

We particularly enjoyed the tide pools on the South Shore Trail and the Otter sightings near Coal Chute Point and by the Whaler's Cabin. We missed the Whaler's Knoll, but still felt like we got some great views. There are a lot of strategic bathrooms on the trail which were helpful. We parked outside the park on the shoulders and walked in, since the start of the trail is so close to the entrance. Today, the Sea Lion Point trail was closed due to construction, but we could get to nearly the same area n the Sand Hill Trail.

THE TRAIL WAS TOTALLY DESTROYED IN THE 2016 WILDFIRE! Refer to the Ventana Wilderness Alliance site for further details, but it will be years before the trail will be restored due to its limited popularity.

You can walk the whole thing in less than an hour. If the surf isn't high it's nice to hang out in the small beaches. It's more a day at the beach than a hike.

My favorite place to take my dog walking off leash. Carmel beach is flooded with other dogs which I love. The most dog friendliest place in the world. Beautiful beach and village shopping nearby. It would be ridiculous to pass this up.

Breathtaking- literally! There's a part of the trail where it is crazy steep, but overall it was a nice trail. Beautiful view of the bay. Mostly shaded. Pet friendly. Lots of dogs there.

Absolutely beautiful! Very easy but goes a good distance and offers great views of the coast, white sand beaches, and seals.
