trail locations for Mesa, Arizona

Trying to take advantage of the lovely day today. The trail was awesome. Took the dog and she did well. It gets a little tricky closer to the top but we made it and the views were spectacular at sunset. Will definitely be coming back!

An easy trail that's forgiving. One of the best trails for beginners.

What a wonderful trail! Came here during a cloudy morning and it was absolutely gorgeous, especially when I made it behind Usery Mountain. Despite the great things I have to say, this trail can easily become dangerous for anyone that doesn't pay attention to their surroundings. Fallen cacti on the trail, loose gravel near the edge of certain backdrops, and difficult rocky terrain were to name a few. Best to have some experience hiking before coming here.

I would rate it very easy for the first 1.2 miles, then it becomes moderate.

Went hiking here in March and it was absolutely fantastic! I brought some friends with me and they absolutely loved it. Great trail for both beginners and experts.

Beautiful area during the morning. I wouldn't call this trail easy, yet I wouldn't call it hard. Definitely bring a decent amount of water with you for this hike.

Great trail with wonderful views. We had some trouble finding the path at the end and just did a little exploring on our own. We were able to eventually find a nice quiet cove to swim. Will definitely come back with the dogs! FYI: Tonto day pass is a must if you don't want to get a ticket.

great trail, easy will mild grade.

Great trail for running. If you haven't ran a trail, it may kick your butt... but a great workout.

Not well marked at all. We never did find any sort of trailhead - but we roamed around several dead end trails to make our own look. I would much rather do Lost Dutchman just down the road!

nice hike but definitely not hard. maybe moderate. always bring inexperienced friends here, and they love it.

Went cliff jumping here! The hike to the little cave where we stopped was only about 20 minutes. We really just wanted to swim and jump off the rocks, but you could definitely keep hiking if you wanted. Beautiful lake, outstanding views!

Fun with kids

the sights on the trail were amazing. lots of trash though in the water. a little rocky & small trail near edge of water. could make a parent nervous with little ones. however, walking through the overgrown trees was awesome for the little ones. and a little cooler, since you are shaded. great place for older kids & adults to hike, perhaps a little too precarious for little ones.
