Oregon Trail Ruts Loop is a 0.4 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Guernsey, Wyoming and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking and walking and is accessible year-round.
The hard surface loop trail is a short incline to an overlook of wagon ruts exceeding four feet deep gouged into solid rock from the passage of thousands of pioneer wagons.
The Oregon trail ruts were quite fascinating. I have viewed ruts from several pioneer trails from Missouri to out west. It is a memorial to the pioneers and what they endured as they sought a new home in the west. The site was well preserved and worth the effort to see.
