I like staying closer to the mountains even though its a slower road
Probably the most photographed mountain peaks in the US. You just want to stop and take another photo. We drove this from north to south, and then did it again from south to north. Great drive!
This was a beautiful drive. Definitely have to stop at Oxbow Bend for that classic reflective view of the mountains! So much to see and do. We will go back!!!
What can you dislike about a road that starts your day in the Grand Tetons and ends in Yellowstone? It was even peaceful on the way north since we traveled out of season and early in the morning. The return was after schools let out, and later in the morning, so it was busy. The mountains, the forests, streams and lakes. Lots of bison. This was our first exposure to the area north of Jackson, and it was amazing! I regret that we won't be returning in December when we visit further north in Yellowstone.
