Barronette Ski Trail is a 3.9 mile lightly trafficked point-to-point trail located near Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming that features a waterfall and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for downhill skiing and snowshoeing and is best used from November until March.
The Barronette Ski trail is a 3.5 mile section of the old Cooke City road in the northeast region of Yellowstone National Park. The trail offers some spectacular mountain scenery and consistent snow conditions. This trail follows the old road and because of this there are a lot of little dips that are hard to navigate if the snow level is low. There is also a washed out bridge to navigate around and up. Overall you pass through wonderful forests, meadows and see some beautiful ice waterfalls and views of Barronette peak.
This trail was beautiful but offered a challenge with lots of short little dips. The view was spectacular and well worth it. It was fairly well maintained and very easy to follow.
