Zillmer Yellow Trail is a 5.4 mile lightly trafficked loop trail located near Campbellsport, Wisconsin that features a great forest setting and is rated as difficult. I went two weekends back and the trails weren't maintained. I don't mind ankle-length or even calf-length grass/shrubs, but this was knee-length and then some.
Great! Pet friendly n a mixture of sun and shade! A nice short hike for small dogs
I put the pussy on the chain wax
Nice hike along the yellow (outer loop).
A very well groomed and maintained trail. Too well for my tastes. Not much of a challenge.
Great changes of scenery throughout the trails. Mosquitos and Flys were starting to get bad when I went on July 5th 2014.
Would recommend this trail for a family hike.
Was a great experience....only wish it were longer.
I agree with Amy, you get a variety of woodlands and loops can expand your hiking, but bugs; deer flies are thick in mid summer.
This is a pretty good hiking trail for this area. The Yellow trail is a 5.2 mile loop but can be extended by a few extra miles by combining some of the other loops and trails at this location. The trial surface varies from packed dirt , moss , mowed grass and pine needles. A few areas in the trail have some small rocks sticking up in places. As with most of Wisconsin, depending on the time of year could be mosquito hell. Spring, early summer and fall are nice and mild. Notes that there are a few low points in the trail that can become a bit boggy or wet in the spring. You can park at either the ice age center lot or the sothern lot.
