This is one of the best campgrounds close to the MKE area you'll find. Easily ten superb sites to choose from that are relatively removed from sites next to each other. Most sites sit nestled in groups of pine trees with soft pine needle floors. Great hiking trails around the campground and beautifully pine covered sites make it a super weekend getaway. Only two downsides to Pine Woods, no creek or lake anywhere on the campground, and it's closed in the winter. I camped there on numerous occasions and throughout the entire season they are open. Definitely a "must go" place if you enjoy camping and live in the Milwaukee area.

Nice for a campground, I recommend you drive through the campgrounds and look at the sites before you pick one. Some are better than others and it gives you a chance to see where the families and kids are running around.
