Dells of Eau Claire Loop is a 1.2 mile loop trail located near Aniwa, WI that features a river and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking and camping and is accessible from May until October.
Pretty descent campgrounds with a beach at the bend of the Eau Claire River. The old highway separates the campgrounds from the actual park so be cautious, people are usually speeding through. The Wisconsin Glaciation marked the end of the last ice age, roughly 10,000 years ago, at the Dells of the Eau Claire witness, first hand, the scars of those ancient glaciers through the rushing falls and glacial pot holes of these dells. Along the river and throughout its wooded banks you'll find surmountable evidence of this areas geological history. As a teenager my sister, friends, and I used to leap from the tall shoulder of the highest rock cliff of the main falls, plunging into the rushing falls below- VERY STUPID in retrospect but great memories none-the-less. The water is always icy and clear and the rocks great for drying off after a quick swim. Great for all skill levels. Don't forget to bring a camera!
It's a easy trail but never the less. Beautiful. Especially in the fall.
