Laurel Trail - Cacapon State Park is a 2 mile loop trail located near Berkeley Springs, WV and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking and is accessible from March until November.
I love the trails here! Going to try to jog this one next time!
I've hiked this trail many times and is a short, quick hike if you are pressed for time. We completed it in about 50 minutes and that was with 10 or so minutes at the top sitting on the rocks. Only 300' elevation gain, so it gets the blood flowing and then you are the top, so not too difficult of an incline. What bothers me most about this trail is it takes you near a small shale pit right in the middle of the park. They should've put the shale pit elsewhere because it detracts from the natural beauty and serenity of the trail.
Lots of beautiful wildlife.
