A steep hike down to the old kaymore mine. Then once at the mines you will follow an old mine rail trail through various views, waterfalls and cliffs. Be prepared for the walk back!
strenuous hike back up from Kaymoor bottom.
Long way down, even longer back up. Not worth the trip all the way down the 800 steps.
Fun family hike, great views... Kids enjoyed stretching their legs on our way to NY from GA
Be ready for a workout with the steps!!! Nice history.
Challenging trail but the historical sotes are worth it
We hiked kaymor miners trail. I gave this trail 4 stars because I love a great challenge! 800 stairs and then a constant climb back up the trail definitely gets the blood pumping. I don't recommend this trail for anyone who isn't in decent shape! At the bottom of the stairs are the remnants of an old mining facility however you can't see much as its blocked off. All in all a great hike for the purpose of getting in a good calorie burn but if you are looking for smething more relaxing, this isn't the trail for you.
I love this trail, the views and historical sites are worth it, but the stairs kinda made me wanna die
Very interesting hike. Nearly hyperventilated going back up, but the views and historical sites were well worth it.
awesome trail, the stairs where challenging but we did it.
Loved this hike. Lots of old mining remnants to wander through, and the stairs (the most strenuous part of the hike, for sure) made for a fun change.
Very nice hike. Great scenery. Awesome to see the old coal mines.. The stairs down to the old town are an extreme challenge. But still this is an amazing trail.. just make sure to take plenty of water with you.
Love this hike. Even ventured down the 800+ stairs (and returned back up.) It was great hike!
Absolutely loved this hike! Mines at the bottom are fun to explore. Unfortunately my boyfriend twisted his ankle on the way down so the climb back out was not fun for him. Be careful on the trail and wear good hiking boots with ankle support. I would do this again in a heartbeat!
