Trail number 1222 starts from a spur off of Middle Fork Teanaway Rd. In approximately 3.75 miles it climbs over 2700 feet to Yellow Hill, then it continues along a ridge for 1.25 mi. to Elbow Peak, and continuing along the ridge for about 4.5 more miles it arrives at Jolly Mountain. From Jolly Mountain it connects to Trail number 1307 which descends to Salmon La Sac. The trail has outstanding views of the Mt. Stuart range to the north and Mt. Rainier to the south.
