Wedge Mountain Trail is a 5.3 mile lightly trafficked out and back trail located near Leavenworth, Washington that offers the chance to see wildlife and is rated as moderate. The trail offers a number of activity options and is best used from April until September.
Good vertical gain. The view of the lakes from the top is beautiful. Not too many bugs and pleasant temps in late May.
Once you turn off Blewett Pass onto the dirt road, be aware that it will take about an hour and you will need a 4x4 vehicle with clearance. The hike to the saddle of Wedge Mountain is fairly steep, gaining about 2600 ft in 2.5 miles. Most people stop at the saddle to enjoy the view overlooking Snow Lakes, Nada Lake, and the Enchantments. If you're feeling more adventurous, head left to Wedge Mountain peak. There is no defined trail to the peak but finding a route is easy. Travel over two false peaks, the third is the actual Wedge Peak. There is a rock scramble to reach the top. Not recommended for the faint of heart. This is a great hike that's not well known and not on most maps.
one of the best views i have had of the enchantment area as well as all surounding area great hike long dr.
