The Washington Park Arboretum is a 3.5 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Seattle, WA that features a lake and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for walking, trail running, and road biking and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.

The Arboretum is a hidden gem on the shores of Lake Washington. Jointly managed by UW and the City of Seattle, its 230 acres are a dynamic assortment of plants found nowhere else.
This is a beautiful park I'll definitely come back to. However, the trails are not marked well and the trail map is fairly useless. With construction going on a lot of the side trails are closed. But it is easy to figure out which way you're going. Good for walking and exploring the local flora.
Simply one of my family's favorite places to walk in Seattle. Well maintained trails and great for teaching kids about plants. Do wish there was more signage for individual specimens.
This is an excellent area to walk/run (although I think I remember seeing signs prohibiting running in certain areas, which people seemed to ignore); the setting is still pretty urban, however there are some areas where you cannot believe you are in the middle of a city. Some trails go out onto lake Washington where there is a nice view of Husky stadium. This is by no means a hike, but a really nice nature walk.
I wish I had gone a little earlier in the year to really enjoy the azaleas, but the peace and quiet was nice on a hot and sunny day
Huge park, alot of places to go. Some parts are quiet and it doesn't feel like you are in the middle of the city.
Hard to beat on a sunny summer day, especially if you walk over to the Lake Washington cut and take a look at all the boaters coming and going. If you're lucky you'll see a couple of bald eagles down near the lake too.
Absolutely beautiful!!! Can't wait to go back!!
I spent a lot of summers here and i dont think I saw it all. Trails, beach, birding, the plant and tree collections. A little of everything for just about everyone. Dont miss the japanese garden.
Very beautiful protected lands, also a great place to spend a day doing community service and trail maintenance.
The arboretum is beautiful and there is an extensive network of trails. Good for trail-running or walking, but there is not really any hiking in there. The trails extend out to Lake Washington.
