Johnson Ridge is a 9 mile lightly trafficked out and back trail located near Gold Bar, WA that features a lake and is rated as difficult. The trail is primarily used for hiking and is accessible from July until October. Dogs are also able to use this trail.
Unfortunately there is thick forest much of the way and the views are somewhat limited the first few miles. I would definitely recommend hiking all the way to the beautiful green meadows below Scorpion Mountain. The steepest section was the brief descent on the east side of Sunrise Mountain but the trail also has some stretches of flat strolls through the woods. There were still a few patches of snow in July, but just stay on the ridge and you shouldn't have any trouble finding your way. The road to the TH is still used for logging so it may be closed certain days during the week but open on weekends.
Not near Leavenworth but Skykomish . Trail isn't easy to find its at the end of FR 6520 , park at the end and the trail starts in the corner . A little overgrown , very steep ups and downs through forest getting first to Sunrise Mountain then to a ridge leading to meadows and Scorpion Mountain , Snow on top of both Mountains ...If you keep going you get to a lake as well but still covert in Snow.Lots of flowers blooming and very nice view it's worth the hard work to get there ...
