Sand Lake Trail is a 6.7 mile lightly trafficked out and back trail located near Randle, Washington that features a lake. The trail is rated as difficult and primarily used for hiking, trail running, and snowshoeing.
Snowshoed from snow park to Sand Lake trail head, a six-mile round trip with only 250 ft elevation gain. The first two miles in were fairly well traveled, but we had to break trail the last mile. Although it was overcast, we got some good views of the Tatoosh Range and the base of Mt. Rainier. One of the little surprises we got was learning that crows too can post-hole.
