Challenging but rewarding at every turn. The view from the base of the glacier was the best I've ever experienced.

Awesome, rocky summit with 360 degree views of the Cascades. Probably one of the most breathtaking summit views in the Cascades. Met a few fellow climbers on route that completely agreed. Prepare for glacial travel and have the proper equipment. The last pitch to the summit is relatively easy bouldering, but the route is is a bit more challenging. Beware the crevasses! Glissading down the glaciers was also a great time (and quick way to get down). I suggest the crevasse self-rescue courses that are offered using Boston Basin. Very cool and fun learning experiences. Did this last summer... it was incredibly hot once you were off of the glaciers. So, check the weather and prepare accordingly if you plan to camp before summiting.

When fishing in doubtful lake in august or
early September use a small black fly with
white thread and orange hackle.
