Roche Harbor offers an extensive trail network directly on the property and on connected National Monument lands, tying together dozens of miles of outdoor footpaths. The Quarry Trails are a series of short, easy trails connecting and looping around a series of abandoned rock quarries. The trail head is easily accessible from the SE side of Roche Harbor Road. There is a trail head sign and informational kiosk just off the road. A series of short trails run around several abandoned rock quarries. You may take your pick and decide how long you want your walk to be. The elevation gain is only around 200 ft and the top features good views of the water, although the trees obscure much of it.
09/20/2014 (Saturday) - We've been coming to Roche Harbor for years but have always rushed off to catch the ferry and missed checking this trail out. It's very easy and very short so just about anyone could do it. This is a perfect hike for small children. There are a series of abandoned rock quarries here with trails weaving around them. It's interesting to see how nature has reclaimed the land. The trees have grown up so much that the view points aren't that great, but it's worth the hike if you have a few minutes to spare.
