Marten Creek Trail is a 5.7 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Darrington, Washington that features beautiful wild flowers and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is best used from March until October.
Did this hike back in July 2006 and had a blast!! The first two miles of trail follows an old logging road with a steep first mile climb. However shortly after the second mile, the trail practically disappears and some good land navigation is required to reach the creek or any destination along this trail. On this particular day, we were on a geocaching mission and relied heavily on our GPS units (which worked about 75% of the time) to guide us through the thick meadow lands. If you are looking for a close, marginally easy incline trail that is close by and that has no other hikers, look no further than Martin Creek.
