Huge, old-growth stumps are everywhere in the park. There is a giant wooden ball carved from a single log by a local logging legend. Story has it the logger could stand atop the floating ball and "walk it" from one end of the lake to the other. The area is rich with logging lore and history. The park is open year round for camping and day use. The group camp is reservable April 1 through September 30. Check-in time, 2:30 p.m. Check-out time, 1 p.m. Quiet hours: 10 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. *Discover Pass Required
pretty muddy this time of year but still fun!
Good hiking trail for small kids and dogs. Lots of cool little bridges including a covered one. Roughly 2.3 miles round trip from Lake Sylvia State Park campground. We have done the trail in the winter too and it looks totally different with frost, snow and ice.
Love running these trails, it's been so nice lately!
Nice hike, great overnight stay in the campground. I have MS and CHF so I had to take the uphill portions of the trail slow, but I did it! Would be slick in rainy weather. Campgrounds were quiet and well kept. Clean facilities include showers. Canoe was tied up right at the site.
nice setting, great path luv'd it
was nice hike, covered bridged was great. good trails
Well marked. The lake loop is 1.5 miles & the forest Creek loop is 2.2 miles. Need Discover Pass to park. West side of both trail loops looked ADA comp., East side not at all.
Camped there, was lucky to get a site right by the lake. Loved the place
Very family friendly. I have young kids and will be going again
