Gray Wolf Ridge Traverse is a 11 mile lightly trafficked out and back trail located near Port Angeles, WA that features beautiful wild flowers and is only recommended for very experienced adventurers. The trail is primarily used for hiking and nature trips and is accessible from June until October.
Gray Wolf Ridge needs some exertion to get to but once there you are rewarded with one of the most spectacular views of the northeast Olympic Wilderness and beyond. This ridge includes such peaks as Mt. Tyler, Mt. Baldy, and the Gray Wolf Ridge towards Mt. Deception.
One of my new favorite hikes. It's an incredible ridge walk for someone like me who is not a mountain climber. It has huge views of the Olympics and wildflower meadows. No water but you may find some lingering snowfields. I always access this ridge by the Upper Maynard Burn Trail.
