Chewelah Mountain Trail is a 2.8 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Usk, Washington that features a great forest setting and is rated as moderate. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round.
Directions from Newport: Travel north on Hwy. 20 for 15 miles to the intersection with Flowery Trail Road. Turn west onto Flowery Trail and follow signs to the 49 Degrees North Ski Area (roughly 18 miles). Once at the entrance to the ski area, proceed through the first parking area and follow the signs to the Nordic trail parking area.
There are a series of trails in the area.Some were constructed in 1989 and 1990 for the purpose of Nordic skiing and mountain biking.The majority of trails are located off the top of Chewelah Mountain and tie into exiting roads which in turn connect back to the ski lodge off the Flowery Trail road.
