I imagine this was a beautiful trail at one time but after the storms in the winter of 2012/2013, the Forest Service closed this trail for good due to hazard trees that can still fall. You can still access it to the viewpoint for Big Creek Falls (about 1/3 of a mile loop) but the blowdown is pretty bad after the viewpoint, especially once you reach the Cave Falls trail. Some of the downed trees were as wide on the horizontal as I was tall and there were many of them, with no way around it. Sad to see the earth reclaiming this trail, as it seems it will not be reopened.

this trail is nice and easy. The view of these falls is a little lame. There is another trail that takes you near the falls that if far superior to this. This is a good stretch your legs trail if you've been in the car to long. That said, there are many other beautiful things in this area i would much rather do. The trail is maybe a mile down and back. There is a cool viewpoint of the valley at the end.
