I love the woods but this is too jungle even for me.

The entrance to this part of the wildlife preserve is about 1/2 mile south of the main entrance. It is where the wide open tidal marsh turns into dense forest complete with bugs, blow-down, mud and unmaintained trail. Nobody goes to this end of the preserve which may explain the requirement for a permit. There is said to be everything from poisonous snakes to deer, rabbit, squirrels, raccoons, fox and a wide variety of reptiles. But all I saw was millions of bugs.
