I live downtown and walk this with my dog almost every day. How many cities have a completely pedestrian trail along the waterfront and skyline? Beautiful sunsets, cool ships and tugboats going by, places to sit for a minute. The best.
Great for an afternoon stroll or jog. Urban hike if you will
Beautiful waterside park!
Nice easy trail to stroll during your lunch break in Downtown Norfolk.
Part of the trail was closed for repair so we basically made up our own path. If you don't mind improvising, there is a lot to see...birds, boats, historic houses, gardens, Waterside Park, Nauticus, and more. For us, it was more sight seeing than hiking, but still fun.
The harbor and Waterside were nice but it was all too city for me.
A nice walk around the Waterside Park. Watch the ships come and go. Take the ferry across to the Portsmouth waterfront too. This is one of the few decent walks that you can take after sunset in the area.
