Good hiking trail that features a couple of inclines and bridges. It was great walking beside this beautiful lake.
I've biked this and it's not easy but it is fun!!!
Excellent hike by yourself or with your dogs! Access right from park to 5-7 mile hike around the lake. Enough incline to make it notable but easy enough to label it a moderate hike. View of the dam when walking the enclosed/gaited bridge added bonus! Then afterwards take out your kayak or canoe, fishing or just relaxing. Public bathrooms and picnic area at start/finish of hike in the park area. Concessions and beach only open in season. Parking only 3$ for day, state park fee.
Did this hike on a warm Saturday in November and loved it, didn't see a single person at the park besides one ranger. Very peaceful and nice views of the lake. Side note wear orange during hunting season because half the trail goes outside the park boundary and we heard gunshots and ran into a cute little hunting beagle on the trail.
Great 6 mile trail for one-day excursions. An excellent opportunity for photographers.
