Really crowded, but worth the trip! Took my 6 yr old daughter and she loved it. need to do the entire loop next time.
Start off in parking lot. Quickly looks over the main viewing areas. Then head down the path closest to the river. Lots of fun rock and cliff climbing. A mobile dog can handle most of the path.
Fun day hike! The falls were larger than I thought. Very impressive to see how high the water has been in the past.
Beautiful overlooks readily accessible
Had a great time!!!
We've come to like this route. Pretty easy; the Swamp Trail detour is a must. Also, the park labels this the Ridge Trail so follow those signs.
Quite crowded as it is Great Falls. Go early (before 9) to fully enjoy and get parking in the small lots. On weekends it can take up to 30 minutes to enter the park in the afternoon due to crowding.
Very close, shade, water, long trails and also you can swim
Loved the view!
When nature calls, you answer!
Decided to get out of the house and check out this hike with my dog and had a great experience. Beautiful hike on a hot summer day but the trails were well shaded. Make sure to bring some water!
Don't forget to unplug and connect with all of the beauty that Mother Nature has to offer here.
Excellent. A bit more challenging than I thought it would be but beautiful!
The views are amazing!
Hiked for a couple hours here early on a Sunday morning in October. I had the River Trail almost to myself for quite some time before the crowds arrived. The trail is a bit rocky in some places but not terrible overall, and the spectacular views are worth it. Magical place.
Great views on this trail. The main overlooks are a little crowded but once you get a little farther down the river trail it becomes less populated and the trail becomes a little more challenging and fun. Very nice park.
