Great hike with wonderful lake view and access. Fished it numerous times without any great luck. Pretty easy with a few little rises. I either start the trail from the boat landing area of picnic area B.
Wanted to try this out based on the one posted 5 star review. We followed the directions per this app but could not find the trail head. Don't waste your time.
I don't give many fives but this trail is a five. Drive into the park and take every right you can take until you get to a parking lot and picnic area on the lake. Then go to the right end of the parking lot. To go around clockwise you start from just above the rest rooms. The trail climbs for a while, crossing the road you came in on. Except for the road crossing it is a beautiful wooded trail all the way up and all the way across to a point above the Visitors Center parking lot. At this point you have been headed along a beautiful wooded trail and you suddenly break out high above the parking lot and lake. The trail keeps to the right of the lot all the way down to the lake, then turns right into the woods. From there you will enjoy constant views of the lake for the remainder of the hike. We sat on a beautiful beach along the way.
