Dameron Marsh Preserve Trail is a 0.3 mile out and back trail located near Kilmarnock, Virginia that offers the chance to see wildlife and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, birding, and whitewater kayaking and is accessible year-round.
This is the 2nd of 3 hikes in the Virginia Peninsula Audubon hiking bundle, all located within a small area for birding. This trail is very easy, part on boardwalk to a panoramic overlook that has a view of the entire marshy area meeting the bay! Nesting birds, and other such larger birds that nest on the ground as well in the trees make the area home, including many rare species as noted on the entrance sign.
